Ayu Chairina Laksmi bergabung sebagai dosen tetap di Prodi Akuntansi UII pada tahun 2003. Setelah menyelesaikan studi S1 Bachelor of Accounting (Hons) di Universitas Gadjah Mada, Ayu kemudian melanjutkan studi program S2 di University of Melbourne, Australia (Master of Applied Commerce). Pada tahun 2005, Ayu kembali menempuh program S2 Master of Research (Business and Management) di Hull University, United Kingdom. Dan pada tahun 2015 Ayu menyelesaikan S3 di RMIT University dengan spesialisasi riset di bidang Accounting Education. Ayu Chairina Laksmi saat ini menjabat sebagai Direktur Pusat Pengembangan Akuntansi di Prodi Akuntansi FE UII.
